Regimental Headquarters

Welcome Civilians!

Every regiment had civilian support from sutlers, to laundresses, cobblers, seamstresses and other craftsmen. We have some period clothing available to be borrowed to participate in living history other than participation in the military unit. This is mostly period dresses for the ladies. Girls that are 14 to 21 years of age are welcome to participate with Company F as soldiers. Wives, mothers and sisters are welcome to participate in living history encampments by wearing period clothing and helping educate the public about the 1860's and the Civil War. There is frequently a dance on Saturday night after the battle at large reenactments. The dances include traditional dances of the 1860's and instructions are provided for the steps. Soldiers and civilians are encouraged to participate with their best 1860's Victorian social graces. To join, please return to Regimental HQ.

We would really like to have a civilian reporter that would wear period clothing and follow the unit to events to write a report about the event and the battle action. The reporter would also serve as a photographer.
